Here’s another page in my new art journal. I’m doing what I’ve seen other people do with theirs–I’m sketching with my art pen. No penciling and erasing to get things just right–just straight to ink. As a second-guessing, frequent-erasing artist this technique is hard to adapt to. There are no do-overs, not even of a single stroke. And I’m not even much of a sketcher–I’m more comfortable with a brush in my hand.
The description on my journal page (see photo) explains the what and the where for this watercolor pen sketch. The why question about a canoe full of deer heads is left to our imaginations.
Given all the weird angles (of the two stacked canoes and the heads), and given the inability to tweak the drawing, I think it came out not half-bad. Creepy, but not bad.
