Art journal 2020 page #4: The Yorkie on the slide

I’ll admit it–I enjoy videos of cute animals and/or kids on YouTube. So when I see one on my YouTube feed, I’ll often go ahead and open it. I figure that it’s good to indulge in things that make you smile every once in a while.

One of my favorites is the video of the Yorkie on the huge amusement park slide. The delight on the dog’s face is priceless, and watching him/her get to the bottom, only to eagerly dash to the steps and climb them for another ride down the slide is pretty adorable.

I’m still keeping up with my New Year’s resolution to create an art journal. It’s not supposed to be fiddled-over frameable art, but rather quickly capturing a moment in your life, something that interests or moves you. So when I was considering what to draw/watercolor for this page, this video came to mind.

I think I was roughly able to convey what I wanted to here. And even my version of the sliding Yorkie makes me smile.

Which is better than the worried frown I wore while I drew/painted that canoe full of deer heads (see my last blog). ๐Ÿ™‚
